Spring is my favorite time to visit New York, with the city in full bloom and the weather not yet unbearably hot. I spent the weekend in the city a couple weeks ago, exploring Brooklyn for the first time and going on an unforgettable Central Park adventure. Fashion was all part of the fun!
May the Fourth be with You
For my first day in the city, I spent the morning exploring DUMBO and then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan for the afternoon. It was the perfect Spring day, with just enough breeze for me to throw on a ripped denim jacket and just enough warmth to wear a short red romper and tie my jacket around my waist when I felt like it. Both are pieces I have worn to the city before, but were reimagined to work together in one look. And, of course, no adventure is complete without my leather messenger bag. He goes everywhere with me. 😉
Central Park Adventures
I have long been in love with Central Park and have explored it before. However, this time, we dedicated a large portion of our early day to exploring the park at length and ran into a number of must-sees, like the Gapstow Bridge, Bethseda Fountain, The Mall, and, the best part of my day, boating around the pond and underneath the Bow Bridge. We wrapped up our morning living out our swanky daydreams in the Plaza Hotel and even managed to have a celebrity spotting! On a day like this, I wanted to be prepared for a day in the park and the zoo while still looking fashionable and being conscious of the weather, because it was hotter than the previous day. The skirt and tennis shoe combination turned out to be the perfect fit for this absolutely perfect day.
